In this chapter we learn how to address the issue "of how to connect all parts of your writing" (107). The main point of the reading is to connect your sentences together as well as making sure they flow together smoothly; a connection between each sentence. On the bottom of page 107, there is a little drawing with with two hands connected with the words "your sentence". On the left side, the hand is holding a string with the words "your last sentence"(Figure 6, 107) on the bottom while on the right side, the hand is also holding a string with the words "your next sentence"(Figure 6,107) on the bottom as well. This demonstration is simple yet effective showing how you want your sentences to connect with the sentence before and the next sentences. You do not want your sentences to be harsh and no smooth flow with one another. There are also a few strategies that are given to us to help us understand how to connect our sentences: "1) using transitions words (like, "therefore" and "as a result"); 2) adding pointing words (like "this" or "such"); 3) developing a set of key terms and phrases for each text your write; 4) repeating yourself - but with a difference" (108). Throughout the reading they go more in depth with the each step to show how it can be done.
Questions:
1. how do you repeat yourself but with a difference? Is it rewording or displaying it in a different way to readers?
