Essay 3 Research Articles
Argument and working thesis:
With all the solutions that are brought to our attention,
individual communities can use a different solution that is beneficial for
them. In Southern California, my hometown, Monrovia has been starting to
conserve water in any ways possible. The city relays their message constantly
through ads or through the police department that citizens need to do their
part conserving water in their households. Whether it is turning off the water when
showering, brushing their teeth, washing dishes to not water their grass or
plants everyday. We have let our grass die because it is taking way too much
water and around the area, people have changed their yards that are able to
survive with the drought.

The article is about “Sustainable Drought Management
Strategy”. The goal is to “Create
public awareness about the causes and impacts and the vulnerability and
mitigation strategies (such as water conservation and use
restrictions—voluntary or mandatory)” (127). Programs should be set up that “Lead
and coordinate development of a national drought management plan (DMP), ensure
ample drought preparedness, and ensure early warnings are issued to the public
before the onset and when drought ends” (126). Starting a nation wide program
that can educate and work with drought affected communities can help find a way
to conserve the water that we have now and try to find a sustainable route to
create more water. During the drought, DTF ensures proper coordination among its
committees/groups responsible for monitoring, risk as-assessment and relief
response operations, mitigation, and DTF communicates with the political
leaders on the status and performance of the mitigation operations. It is
important that the roles and responsibilities of government representatives in
DTF are clearly defined, and coordinated (Wilhite, 1991b; Fontane and Frevert,
1995)” (126).

In
this article that I found in the SFSU online library articles is how the
country can come up with an efficient system to help conserve water. Each group
contributes to running this countrywide system or even working in the
community. To begin with, you need a “drought management plan development” (5)
which is the plan before you start doing anything. “A multidisciplinary drought
task force (DTF) drawing its members from government agencies, academia,
environmental and civic bodies/NGOs is appointed by the leader of the
nation/state with responsibilities” (5). Those responsibilities vary from
different positions, all doing their part in ensuring that the tasks are
covered completely and efficient. There is also the “Risk assessment
committee (RAC)” which
is responsible for recommending mitigation strategies to the DTF that are cost
effective, efficient, and water conserving, as well as technically feasible,
socially and culturally equitable, and amenable” (6). There are also key points
that the committee members that appointed should follow.

and low cost self-powered water pump for use in free flowing liquid streams
Annotation:
The design of the water pump
depends on “local conditions such as
geophysical features, available technology, traditions, culture, and available
human and economic resources” (1). The cost also depends on those values but
also how big you are trying to design it. This pump is known as the Filardo
Pump and they provide us with a drawing that shows what it will look like, what
is used and how it is assembled. There are “three flow depths” (4) that are
used and they are: “H_0.300m,H_0.325mandH_0.370m”
(4) each were tested to see which one would be more efficient for a certain
area. They continually tested their prototype to
find the most efficient way to use the water pump, different ideas, different
sources that were used and various circumstances to see if it was reliable or
not.

optimization framework for planning water resources management systems with
multi-level parametric interactions
Annotation:
“A multi-level factorial-vertex
fuzzy-stochastic programming (MFFP) approach is developed for optimization of
water resources systems under probabilistic and possibilistic uncertainties”
(1). The TSP will begin by being separated into “first- stage and second- stage
variables” (2). The first –stage is designated for random parameters and
sorting with different scenarios and each with an already given probability. In
the overall study system, “a limited amount
of water is released from an un- regulated reservoir to three competing users
in a dry season, including municipality, industry, and agriculture. The
objective of this problem is to maximize the total net benefit through identifying
optimized water allocation schemes” (4). Maximum and minimum amounts of water
are provided that will test when there is a drought or when there are high
amounts of water available in a certain region. With all the tests that are
done, they concluded that “useful solutions were ob- tained for the optimal
allocation of water resources under fuzziness and randomness” (9).

Annotation 5: Desalination and sustainability - An appraisal and
current perspective
Annotation:
Desalination is an alternative way
that people are able to access fresh water from salt water. “Desalination technologies require large quantities of high grade
thermal energy and/or prime quality electricity for freshwater separation which
results in release of waste heat, greenhouse gas emissions and concentrates
(brine) into the environment” (2). Although this is an alternative process of
producing fresh water, it comes with many negative affects to the environment.
Desalination can be classified by “thermal
(phase change) and membrane (non-phase change) processes” (2). Thermal phase is
the process of an “evaporator and condenser to vaporize freshwater from the
feed water (seawater or brackish water)…” (2) which begins the process of
desalination. The process of desalination has many stages and there are
different systems that are used as well. Water can be put into different
systems to see which one is more efficient than the other. “Sustainability of desalination technologies can be assessed by
four components which comprise environmental, economic, social and
technological areas” (5).

During spring break, my best friend and I went to the beach for a couple of hours. She attends school in Arizona at GCU and I am up here. Every chance we get, we always meet at our hometown in Monrovia, to have a girls night and double date nights weekly. As we were sitting at the beach, the weather was a perfect 75 degrees, the sun was out, little clouds in the sky and a handful of people on the beach. We found a spot, changed into our bikinis and relaxed. I watched the ocean waves crashing on the shore and we could feel a slight mist from the water. I closed my eyes for about 10- 15 minutes only to wake up to a harsh, strong, cold wind hitting us along with others at the beach. We laughed about it and we knew that we did not want to leave because this was the only day we could have our girls day. As the day progressed, the waves were hitting the shore harder and more constant than an hour before and the wind continued to pick up. Two groups of teens decided to sit on both sides of where we were laying and they were extremely rude and loud. By then we had been at the beach for about three hours and decided that it was time to leave. We packed up our stuff and we left at a perfect time because more people were on the beach and the wind continued to pick up. Those few hours that we were able to lay on the beach was worth it and I can't wait until summer.

They Say/ I Say Spring Break Reading
In Chapter Three of They Say/ I Say, many writers that use quotations
from other sources do not always quote correctly. The main problem that
writers face is that they "assume that quotations speak for themselves"
(43). They also offer two keys to follow which are "(1) by choosing
quotations wisely, with an eye to how well they support a particular
part of your text, and (2) by surrounding every major quotation with a
frame explaining whose words they are, what the quotations means, and
how the quotation relates to your own text" (43). Quotations should be
chosen on how they will strengthen your writing instead of of
demonstrating the author work. "Finding relevant quotations is only part
of your job" (44) you also need to be able to connect your writing with
the correct quotations and making your argument clear to your readers.
There are also templates that you can follow when you are writing your
quotations. They are clear and easy to follow but also effective. In
chapter 2, there are also templates when it comes to disagreements with
other thoughts. Other templates that are provided is when you are
agreeing with ones argument. Both of these templates are easy to follow
and can be used in your own arguments. In chapter five, I was always
taught that you want to avoid using the word "I" as much as possible,
but I now know that using I or first person is more common than I
thought. It is okay to use I when you are annotating a passage or video
to let the readers know your reactions. The templates that were provided
for us are examples of using the word "I". In chapter six, there is
"templates or introducing objections informally" (84). The main purpose
of this reading is to show the power of quotations but also how to cite,
use, and credit them correctly.

If we were told to write a research paper over spring break, questions that might come to mind are how many sources are we allowed to use? Would it have to be off of our top three picks from online sources or could we combine sources from the internet plus ones resources that we found in the library? Another question that came to mind when researching, how broad can our search be? I am writing on finding a sustainable way to conserve our water in my hometown Monrovia or our neighboring town of Sierra Madre. Would I research what options that are currently being used or what we could potentially use in the future? Collecting and harvesting rain water is a huge problem because we aren't able to due to a law that was put into place. Should I base my research off of that topic?

From Inquiry 120-138 3/15
In the reading, From finding to Evaluating Sources, we are taught and shown ways we can look at the sources from the internet or in the library. There are a few things that you can do before you search the internet or your campus library such as, "Librarians at your campus or Local Library" (121). When you are searching sources, you want to see the difference between "Popular and Scholar Sources" (125). They give you steps that are given as a guide and those steps are: "1. Consult experts who can guide your research. 2. Develop a working knowledge of standard sources. 3. Distinguish between primary and secondary sources. 4. Distinguish between popular ans scholarly sources" (127). One person that you can talk too is your professor or librarian. When you are searching, you want to make sure you are using the correct keyword search which is essential to your research. It helps you define and narrow down your research topic. There are also steps that you can follow while researching on the internet, such as, "1. Evaluate the author of the site. 2. Evaluate the organization that supports the site. 3. Evaluate the purpose of the site. 4. Evaluate the information on the site" (138). You do not want to do all this research and believe that you have a reliable when in fact you do not have one at all. That is a waste of time and you would have too start all over. By being careful in the beginning it ensures you more that you did your research correct.

Writing essay two by using either a picture, clip, documentary or website helped a lot. I liked having peer revision because it helps me a lot. I also liked annotating the clip that I choose; fog harvesting water. I was able to put my emotions in as well as trying to find out their point of view that the producer is trying to show us. I was able to figure out how to write a correct working thesis, it i broad but I believe that is okay. I will narrow down to talking about my hometown, Monrovia or using a neighboring one. I think that essay two went well, it was a little tough writing the recommending amount of pages, but as I continued to write, it came easier to me. I did not realize how much music was involved in annotation and how the producer is trying to make us feel or see a certain way. I think that this essay was very beneficial because it helped me practice my ability to annotate a short clip.

What comes first when you are writing an essay is your working thesis because you want to base your research off of whatever you decide to write about. Having an idea what you are deciding to write about makes it easier for you to research your topic. Throughout your essay, you can change your thesis or work on it because you may change your point of view as well.
A thesis is a stance where a write puts at the begining of your essay with the points that you want to argue. You put it at the begining of the essay to show your points you want the readers to focus on and what your stance is on the essay.

Online research will be part of our semester long paper on a sustainable idea, so this reading is perfect to help us see the pros and cons of the online research. When you are researching a certain topic, there are many websites that provide incorrect information which will fire back at you in the long run. Three questions that you want to keep in mind are "Do your findings supplement any facts or details about people, places, histories, ideas or artifacts you've already heard about? What evidence do you have the the information is reliable? Is it up- to- date? Who authored the text on the Web site? How is the Web site connected to other sources?" (39). These three questions are extremely important because you want to be able to find reliable and credible sources that have something to do with your topic. There are also guidelines that you want to follow which are, "Research well., Mark your Trail., Evaluate your resource., Document everything you use." (40) These simple yet effective guidelines will make sure you aren't using false information or loose anything. Plagiarism is also something that you want to look out for. You cannot copy a sentence with out giving the source you took it from credit. It is so easy to copy and paste words or sentences, but it is also so easy to find where you took the information from by looking online. You also want to look for "Published and unpublished Written sources" (140) because you may find more information that is suited for your topic than online information.

From Inquiry: From Formulating to Developing a Thesis 3/15
In the reading, "From Formulating to Developing a Thesis" it is showing us how to make a strong and straight forward thesis. A thesis is "an assertion that academic that writer make at the beginning of what the write and the support with evidence throughout their essay" (99). There are three different models that were provided as a source of help to first formulating your thesis. Those three models are "Misinterpretations Model, Gap model, and modification model" (103). Misinterpretations Model explains that even though you might have explained and examination on topics X and Y as best of your ability, there are still information or thoughts about topic Z that may lead to a different idea than what you wanted your readers to see. Gap model explains that even though you explained topics X and Y, there is a missing importance of topic Z. Lastly, modification model explains that even if ideas X and Y strengthen other writers thoughts, ideas, etc., idea Z is used to strengthen those ideas. There are also key points that you want to focus on when your are trying to build context in your thesis. Those four steps are: "1. Establish that the topic of conversation, the issue, is current and relevant- that is on people's minds or should be. 2. Briefly summarize what others have to show that you are familiar with the topic or issue. 3. Explain what you see as your problem... etc. 4. State your thesis, suggesting that your view on the issue may present readers with something new to think about as it builds on and extends what others have argued" (105). The reading also has examples of different thesis's you can practice identifying and using these steps to eventually strengthen your writing.

Practice Write 3/10
I think the point of this course is to enhance our abilities to write a semester long research paper. We are constantly analyzing whether it was articles we read and annotated, analyzing our topic in more depth and analyzing our book. With the constant practice of analyzing, I am not sure how it could help my career choice, but ideally anaylzing places for people to have events could be a possibility.
They Say/ I Say Chapter 8
In this chapter we learn how to address the issue "of how to connect all parts of your writing" (107). The main point of the reading is to connect your sentences together as well as making sure they flow together smoothly; a connection between each sentence. On the bottom of page 107, there is a little drawing with with two hands connected with the words "your sentence". On the left side, the hand is holding a string with the words "your last sentence"(Figure 6, 107) on the bottom while on the right side, the hand is also holding a string with the words "your next sentence"(Figure 6,107) on the bottom as well. This demonstration is simple yet effective showing how you want your sentences to connect with the sentence before and the next sentences. You do not want your sentences to be harsh and no smooth flow with one another. There are also a few strategies that are given to us to help us understand how to connect our sentences: "1) using transitions words (like, "therefore" and "as a result"); 2) adding pointing words (like "this" or "such"); 3) developing a set of key terms and phrases for each text your write; 4) repeating yourself - but with a difference" (108). Throughout the reading they go more in depth with the each step to show how it can be done.
Questions:
1. how do you repeat yourself but with a difference? Is it rewording or displaying it in a different way to readers?

Some things I would like my editors to focus on is to make sure I am answering and hitting all the requirements for this paper. I am writing about fog harvesting and how huge it would be if we invested this in our own country. I also want them to make sure I analyzed and clear when reading my essay. I think this does fit in with my research article because it is finding a sustainable way to keep our water during this drought that the West Coast is currently suffering with. I do state visual analysis but unsure if I needed to go in more detail or not.

Page Goal 1: Part 2-191
To begin with, Oryx and Crake is still a little confusing at
points. At times I wasn’t sure who was talking and it would change subjects so
quickly. To summarize there parts that we read, we finally find out who Oryx is
and more about Crake. Oryx is a little girl that Crake and Jimmy find on a porn
site that they were watching. Throughout the book, there were scenes about
Crake’s father supposedly killing himself, Uncle Pete who is now with Crake’s
mother (former boss and best friend), what Oryx life was prior to meeting with
Jimmy and how she got there, riots in the city to protest Happicuppa around the
world and in their city, jumping back and forth between scenes of Jimmy and
Snowman and lastly, did Jimmy find an image that his mother could be alive. Crake was introduced right after
Jimmy’s mother’s disappearance. In that passage something that caught my
attention was when Jimmy said “Of course Crake wasn’t Crake yet, at the time;
his name was Glenn.” (70) I think with his father’s apparent suicide Crake changed
his life because of the interrogation, his mother’s new marriage and to forget
something. I think his past affected him so much that he needed to change
himself to hide something important. Another important part of this reading was
finding Oryx and her life story leading up to her conversation with Jimmy. She
was from a village and her mother sold her and her brother when they were
younger. They found themselves living with Uncle En that used them to sell
flowers to tourists and had a daily quota that they needed to reach or else
they would be sold to someone else. “Oryx had been given a new name by Uncle
Em”. (129) Oryx was so “small and fragile, her features so clear and pure”
(129-130) which drew the attention of older men trying to be satisfied by
little girls. This lead to Uncle En being killed and Oryx being taken with a
man that bought her for “movies” which is actually pornography. While Jimmy and
Crake were watching it on Uncle Pete’s laptop, they noticed Oryx, at the time
they didn’t know who she was, and Jimmy was watching her. “Oryx paused in her
activities. She smiled a hard little smile that made her appear much older, and
wiped the whipped cream from her mouth. Then she looked over her shoulder and
right into the eyes of the viewer- right into Jimmy’s eyes, into the secret
person inside of him. (90-91) That
was their first contact and she knew that Jimmy was the one that could help
her. I think with both Oryx and
Crake changing their names, they are both trying to hide their past. Oryx past
was terrible from the time she was sold by her own mother, loosing her brother,
being a sex figure to older men and being raped at a young age. Jimmy was so in
shock that he didn’t know how to react and asked her “Did they rape you?” (144)
He kept denying and saying none of it was real but Oryx left him on a back
chilling note, “But Jimmy, you should know. All sex is real.” (144) The last
part of the reading that stood out to me was the loss of Crakes father. After
watching a different video on Uncle Pete’s computer, Jimmy and Crake believed
that they saw Jimmy’s mother, which triggered a response from Crake. “My dad
was the same” (182) Crake said to Jimmy which confused him at first because he
thought that he died. Crake was told that they never said it was suicide
instead said “your father’s accident”. (183) His father was one of the top
researchers at HelthWyzer West and could have been targeted.
We finally find out who both Oryx and Crake which is a huge
relief. Something else that was cleared up was whether or not Crake was a male
or female, now I know he is a male. I am still unsure about the Children or
Oryx, I believe that it is the children that had to grow up in similar way as
Oryx did. Now, there is the “Children of Crake”. (96)
Questions:
1. Who are the Children of Crake?
2. Could Jimmy’s mother actually still be alive?
3. Was Crakes father set up because he was like Jimmy’s
mother but he was caught instead?

Harvesting Fog Water Essay #2

Harvesting
Water from Fog
Finding
a sustainable yet affordable way to conserve and find alternative routes to
collect fresh water has been difficult. My inquiry question that I hope to
answer is how can California find a sustainable way to preserve our water
source with different solutions? Different inventions have been brought up,
currently being tried, used or discarded because it costs too much money. Prior
to researching new alternative inventions or ideas, I knew very little on ways
to create or harvest water besides the catching of rainwater. That intrigued me
to learn more on this fast growing problem that citizens throughout California
and other states have to worry about. Evidently, one invention that has been created
and now being put to use is the harvesting of fog. When I first saw their ad to
promote this new idea to harvest fog, I was confused, but then realized how
efficient this was. With further research I found an article written by the
company that created the “Optimal Design of Permeable Fiber Network Structure
for Fog Water” (Langmuir). The question that constantly came to mind was
whether or not other processes would have to be use to remove salt, filter and
whether or not the water can be used for human and/or agriculture purposes. In
the short video they stated that the water collected and harvested can be used
for agriculture and human use because “fog has naturally desalinated by the
sun” (Hashem Al- Ghaili Video). By watching that short film
Higashiyama
and
reading an article page on the harvesting of fog, it has opened more
opportunities to decrease the drought.
During
the beginning of the little chip, it starts with showing the mesh surface that
catches the fog and has words explaining what the mesh is. The mesh is made up
of “combined hydrodynamic and surface wettability model to predict the overall
fog-collection efficiency of the meshes” (Langmuir), condenses fog into water
to allow the process of catching fog to begin. What caught my attention was the
little music that was put in the background. It made me want to know more kept
a happy, light tone to this new invention of harvesting fog. At first, I never
knew it was possible to collect and harvest fog, but after this short clip and
short but informative article, I found out that this invention has been
happening for a few years. The video also stated that this system is “placed on
hilltops in areas with persistent fog and heavy winds ”(Hashem Al- Ghaili
Video). That brings a question to mind whether the Bay Area would be considered
a place where they can put these woven meshes or near beaches that are
constantly covered with fog and wind. I also liked the fact that they
demonstrated how the mesh collected water, where it drained too and what the
water can be used for, human and agricultural use. With agricultural and animal
water usage not limited at all, most of our water is wasted during their
process. This will help them stop depleting our water that is used for human
consumption and decrease our drought. By being able to process water that is
already naturally de salted by the sun, this will save money tremendously and
provide clean, fresh, harvested water faster. A couple statistics were also
shown in the short clip, one of them says that
Higashiyama
the mesh woven a certain way, it
increased “the fog-collecting efficiency by 500%” (Hashem Al- Ghaili Video.)
That means with the increase of fog- collecting, there would be an increase of
water that is produced and distributed for human and agriculture use alone. By
watching this short video on the harvesting of fog, it is inspiring and
extremely informative to viewers. This could potentially change the way of life
and could be a sustainable and inexpensive route to provide water for millions.
With all of this information, I was
beginning to become curious on how big this mesh and how much the cylinders
could hold water. The video stated that one single cylinder that is “4 m (13ft)
long by 10 m (33ft) high net alone can collect 250 L (66 gal) a day.” That is
enough water for a family to use in their household daily, including drinkable,
washing dishes and showering. With that amount of water caught daily, large
amounts of families and business could be supplied with fresh water. We would
lessen the amount of water pulled from rivers in different states or countries.
Also, our aqueducts would stop being overly depleted then they can naturally be
filled up again with water by rainfall. Wild life can begin to migrate to their
original homes with huge amounts of water, plants and game to eat. The video
also shows huge towers that can be built high in the air to increase the amount
of fog to be caught and harvested. They call it the “fog- harvesting towers” (Hashem
Al- Ghaili Video), which are also build out of mesh and other building supplies
that are needed to ensure the towers are sturdy and reliable. The video
demonstrates how they are build one of the towers, not as high as the ones they
want to consider building. They are light, durable and easily assembled with a
handful of workers. Once the small tower is built, they are quickly attached to
their systems and
Higashiyama
begin
the process of harvesting fog. This invention has opened many doors to help
find a reliable, affordable, and sustainable route to preserve our water along
with a way to create more water for citizens. At the end of the short video, it
states that countries have actually been practicing and using fog harvesting to
provide clean water to people. They show a little girl drinking clean water
from a hose that comes from the towers that are collecting fog. Those countries
that are listed are “Yemen, Morocco, Chile, Eritrea, and Ethiopia” (Hashem Al-
Ghaili Video) The counties that are currently practicing and using fog-
harvesting to have clean drinking. water have been able to supply thousands of
people with water and they could potentially spread this idea to other
countries, such as the United States. If the United States decided to start
harvesting fog, we would have more water to use and save in case of another
drought. Places that we could put these towers are the Bay Area, Washington,
Oregon, just to name a few. Each individual state could have their own network
for providing water to their residents, allowing them to decrease and
ultimately stop draining lakes, rivers and other countries water supply. The
emotional aspect of seeing that little girl is sad and happy. You do not
understand how much clean water is not assessable for millions of people in
different countries because of how fortunate we are to always have access. With
that being said, we take advantage of always having access to clean, fresh
water while millions have unsafe drinking water. You also have a happy feeling
knowing that drinking clean water saves one life and hopefully thousands of
other children, teen, and young adults will be changed forever. Another emotion
that I felt while watching the little girl and others drink fog harvested water
was hope. Hope in a sense that if the United States decided to find different
Higashiyama
alternative
yet sustainable routes to find more ways to create water, we could potential
help man kind in the long run. Looking at it in the big picture, water would be
accessible for all across not only the United States, but across the world to
those who do not have access to clean water. A huge problem that billions of
people face daily would be resolved and the death of thousands that do not have
food or water would decrease tremendously. One of our biggest problems in the
United States and around the world could be solved easily.
To
conclude, watching this short video has helped clarify a different but also
find sustainable route countries, including the United States can help fix our
drought. Inevitably, the California drought will continue to grow because and
we will continue to deplete our natural resources if we do not find different
alternatives to produce, collect and/or harvest water for human and agriculture
use. I include agriculture use because that is where most of our water goes to
because there is no limitations or regulations for companies to abide by. Not
only can states be involved with this process of harvesting fog, but so can
communities and individuals. Some communities and houses are naturally covered
in fog which makes it easy for them to begin the process of harvesting of fog.
They can buy or make their own mesh and system that catches fog then runs off
into their own cylinders which they can use for their household. It may sound
easier said than done, but I believe that if states and communities come
together, we can make this happen. We can become efficient and rely on
ourselves to find ways to catch and harvest our water. In the end, some states
do not have consistent heavy fog and high winds, which is needed to begin the
process of harvesting fog. One question that I thought of is how is it possible
to
Higashiyama
catch
fog harvested water for states such as the Mid-West of the United States to
receive fog harvested water? The solution could be potentially be transporting
water from states that are constantly covered in fog and high winds. Another
solution could be to harvest rain water as well. I hope to find an answer to
find a way to end our California drought with different sustainable
alternatives that are inexpensive. In the future, I hope that each state finds
a solution to produce their own water for their population and stop draining
our natural resources.

There is only had a few questions that I am still struggling with is to cite sources that I used. I don't know if I am doing it correctly. I have a website that I am using that helps me with citing but it is a little confusing. I was also was wondering how many paragraphs that needed or was there a recommended amount besides it needs to be 5-6 pages.
Question:
1. After I submit my paper, would you possibly be able to see if I cited my sources correctly?

Idea Draft for Essay 2 3/2
I found a topic that I have decided to write about fog harvesting. It is a short video that I found on an add on Facebook. Before I decided to write about it, I did some research to ensure that it is true and indeed it was. I found out that it is a sustainable way to harvest fog which then is processed into clean water. There would be no desalinization processes that would need to be done because the sun naturally takes out the salt. Harvesting of fog is currently being used in third world countries and I believe that this could potentially be used in the United States.

My first thoughts of Family Guy was that it was funny, entertaining but also they ridiculed others which at first I thought was inappropriate, but then I realized that they were all jokes. In general, I have a sarcastic personality and I enjoy watching sarcasm and ridicule on one another. Althought I love the show and watch it constantly, other may not agree with me because of its sarcasm, harsh jokes and constantly making fun of others. Even though I enjoy the show, I would not condone this show for younger viewers under the age of 16-18. It is more adult humor and younger viewers may may not understand the jokes or might take them too serious. In the end, the show is a lot of humor and something I love watching.
Questions:
1. What is your opinion on Family Guy? Would you recommend this show for younger viewers?
