I think you picked some important quotes. I also have a lot of questions about Crake's plan and his decisions towards the end of the story. It seems like he wanted Jimmy to be the only person to survive along with the Crakers, but why did he want it to be that way? What was the point?
ReplyDeleteI liked your quotes, short and sweet, but still very important. I thought it was interesting though that in the last point of your summary, you said Jimmy was outnumbered and he left them alone. I interpreted the ending differently. when he says "times up, gotta go" I interpreted it as him deciding to go meet these people, not leaving them alone. But it is a trilogy, so we will just have to see.
ReplyDeleteI liked your quote about the "I'm counting on you." I really pondered over this myself as to how exactly interpret this. A part of me thought that maybe Crake realized the harm him had Oryx had brought on the world which is why he killed her because he then knew Jimmy would kill him and eventually set things right. This is a bit of a stretch but I like it characters have a "self evaluation" of sorts with themselves.
ReplyDeleteI liked your summary, you were really good at picking the most important plots/points that happened in this part. I really like your question regarding your second question, why no one looks into the pill. It made me laugh a bit.
